Hey Rick. I believe the 5-7-10 is named the “Sour Apple”. There isn’t anything “Golden” about it. Keep up the good work!
Ken
Ken-Thanks for the correction. “Golden Apple” sounded a little off to me but I couldn’t come up with anything else. Your correction will be duly noted on the blog.
Rick, leaving the Sour Apple is the most embarrasing thing an anchor bowler can do, especially in the 10th frame; I did it last August, right there at Via Linda Lanes, much to the amusement of every bowler in the house.
Btw, nice 268 last week; I called it in the 4th.
Your pal, Larry
No argument there regarding the bad apple. And yes you did call my game after a double in 3-4, thanks for the publicity!!
Always a pleasure to help…Here’s a great idea…Instead of giving away free games of bowling, how about some free food? I’m always hungry when I bowl and those prices are outrageous at that snack bar. Or how about some free drink tokens? Now we’re talking! Bada bing!
You know Larry, if I could get “free food” coupons that might work, though coming from one who gets regular free bowling(yourself), and has been known to partake in Noble Roman grub(yourself), am I sensing a little personal interest here?
See you in the lanes!
Bill-a blog response works fine, or you can seek me out at the start of bowling. I usually send responses to every blog posting, to confirm the answer and ask how difficult the trivia was. You were good for last week though your team must have scheduled a make-up for the night. Hopefully you will get this, I will make a point to seek you out at the start of bowling next week. Happy Thanksgiving! See you in a week.
