FREE BOWLING TRIVIA

October 6, 2009

To this point limited response to my purposely challenging trivia question.  I did get a correct response, albeit on a second effort, but it gave me faith that the clues were there if read properly.  I’m going to offer some additional clues here because I don’t want Dennis Baker to be my sole participant in the challenge(nothing against you Dennis, it’s just more enjoyable with a larger group!): Sometimes I will put a misdirection in the question.  The information is true, but it probably wouldn’t help with getting you to the answer.  As Dennis found out, half of the answer is actually right there in the clues, almost spelled out for you.  A well-treated bowling ball gathers no oil.  See you on Wednesday!

FREE BOWLING!!

September 9, 2009

I’ll be stuffing the league envelopes with inserts referencing our “Free Bowling Trivia Challenge” tonight, so in anticipation of increased traffic seeking information on the subject, I’ll talk about it here and a few more times over the next week.

Each week on Thursday I post a weekly recap on how our night of bowling went.  I include in the recap a bowling challenge that has two parts to it. The first part is on the blog in the recap.  I ask a trivia question of my choosing and sometimes of my creation to you.  Answer the question via comments on the blog or in person by 6:15 Wednesday night.  That’s step one.

If you answer the question correctly, you then proceed to step two on the next night of bowling.  In game 1, bowl at least +10 pins over average to qualify for the free bowling giveaway.  I say “qualify” because with the possibility of multiple winners, someone could get left out!

As follows: This week I have 15 games to give away.  If I have just a single winner, as has happened the past two weeks, that winner takes home all 15 games.  But if I have multiple winners, the game distribution works as follows:  2 winners, 9 games to highest pins over average, 6 games to next.

3 winners-7 games to highest, 4 games each to next two winners;

4 winners-6 games to highest, 3 games each to next three;

5 winners-3 games apiece to each winner.

6 or more winners-3 games each to 5 bowlers with highest pins over average.  So while it hasn’t happened yet, someone or several could be left out of winning.

And if it happens that I have no winners on a given week, that week’s games get carried over to the following week’s giveaway.  Entry is free, all you need to do is go to your blog and answer the trivia question to be eligible.  And if you don’t need the games, maybe your children would enjoy a free bowling experience.  Good Luck!!
